I’ve always worked towards being healthier whether its exercising or using non-toxic cleaners. However many times life gets in the way and you get off path… am I right? Staying on track can be hard especially when we live in a go go fast pace world. Recently my mom who isn’t yet 50 had some serious health issues that we {the public} usually associate with people 65+ which made me realize life really is short and we need to really take care of ourselves. So I am now working even harder to find a balance to live a healthier lifestyle all the way around and finding ways to help keep myself accountable so I stay on track. One of the ways I found to keep myself accountable is using Walgreens new Steps with Balance Rewards program!

With Walgreens Steps program you can use it on the computer or even download the app on your iphone or ipad. Which makes all the difference in the world for me, in order to keep on track I need something that can travel with me and is easy to use on the go. The big kicker for the program and to keep on track is that you earn money for logging your steps! For every mile you walk/run you earn 20 points on your Walgreens Balance Rewards card, log your weight for the day and you can earn another 20 points!

After I signed up I noticed that you can sync devices such as the FitBit to your account. I had been wanting one for awhile so I did a little research and decided that a FitBit would A. make life easier not having to log my miles each day on the app because it automatically does it for you and B. Throughout the day it would be a great reminder to keep moving. So I went on Walgreens website and ordered the FitBit One, within 5 days it was in my mailbox. {gotta love online shopping, click here to see my shopping experience} The bonus was I earned 250 points just from syncing it with my Steps account!

Within just a few weeks of daily walking and weighting in I was able to earn more then 1,000 points that can be redeemed as $5 instore cash once you hit 5,000 points. For me, getting paid to get healthier has helped me stay on track and accountable which is hard to do. It’s really a no brainer if you too are looking for incentives to get healthier!
